De afdeling Civiel recht verzorgt onderwijs en onderzoek op het terrein van het Civiel recht. Zo verzorgen we de masteropleiding Civiel recht, een opleiding die jaarlijks veel studenten van binnen én van buiten Leiden trekt.

Op donderdag 12 januari 2017 verdedigde Ellen Raaijmakers haar proefschrift ‘The Subjectively Experienced Severity of Imprisonment: Determinants and Consequences’. De promotors zijn prof. dr. P. Nieuwbeerta en prof. dr. J.W. de Keijser.
