For this Connect & Join event we’re very pleased that we’ll be joined by a special guest, Elli Papadopoulou, from the Athena Research & Innovation Center in Greece. The topic is one that’s occupying many of the Data Stewards, as well as others across Leiden research support right now: machine-actionable, data management plan (maDMP) templates. She’s going to tell us more about Argos: https://www.openaire.eu/argos-guide

The need to move away from producing plain text Data Management Plans (DMPs) has already been expressed in RDA and EOSC fora, and the community advocates towards more fitted solutions supported by machine actionable applications. This talk focuses on DMPs and ARGOS (argos.openaire.eu). It will start with providing the current Research Data Management (RDM) landscape to then communicate how the ARGOS addresses the gaps by enabling machine actionability, automations and FAIRness of its DMP outputs. It will give an overview of the different applications of ARGOS around Europe and will conclude with a walkthrough the service.

There’s also a nice poster which will give you a bit more background: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4278005

As always, come along for an hour if that’s all you have, or stay for an hour and a half if you want to continue the discussion.

Please contact datamanagement@library.leidenuniv.nl if you are not a member of the Leiden University Data Management Network and would like to attend.

About Connect & events

This event is part of the “Connect and …” series of meetings arranged by, and for, the Leiden University Data Management Network. The meetings take around the middle of the month, every month, at different days and times, so as to maximize access according to people’s different working hours. Topics and speakers are proposed by members of the Network.

You can post a suggestion in the Network’s MSTeams space, or write to datamanagement@library.leidenuniv.nl, if you have a topic you'd like to discuss in a future meeting and the CDS team will help to make it happen
