Per 1 juli treedt hoogleraar Bio-organische Synthese Hermen Overkleeft aan als wetenschappelijk directeur van het Leids Instituut voor Chemisch Onderzoek (LIC). Hij volgt Jaap Brouwer op, die twaalf jaar leiding gaf aan het instituut. Overkleeft wordt benoemd voor een periode van vier jaar.
