Verbreden palet van onderwijsmiddelen

Het Expertisecentrum moderne vreemde talen is in 2007 ontstaan op initiatief van het ICLON. De activiteiten van het Expertisecentrum werden tot 2012 mede gefinancierd door het Ministerie van OCW.

Sinds 1986 is Engels in het basisonderwijs (eibo) een verplicht vak voor groep 7 en 8. Tegenwoordig wordt Engels op een aantal scholen ook aan jongere kinderen in de groepen 1 t/m 6 aangeboden (vroegtijdig vreemdetalenonderwijs, vvto).

Onderwijsvernieuwingen komen en gaan, maar er is één onderwijsideaal dat altijd zal blijven bestaan: studenten uitdagen op hun eigen niveau om diepgaand na te denken over en met de leerstof.
