De Cleveringaleerstoel is ingesteld door de Universiteit Leiden ter herinnering aan hoogleraar Rudolph Pabus Cleveringa en zijn moedige optreden in november 1940 tijdens de Duitse bezetting en ter herdenking van de bevrijding in 1945.

In 2018 neemt Nederland voor een jaar plaats in de VN Veiligheidsraad en in maart is ons land er zelfs voorzitter. Hoe komt het dat ons kleine landje dit toch voor elkaar krijgt? Volgens Isabelle Duijvesteijn is het een kwestie van machtspolitiek, zo legt ze uit aan het Leidsch Dagblad.
